What Can I Expect From Breast Reduction Surgery?

Breast reduction surgery is a type of breast augmentation procedure that does not involve foreign materials. Our surgeons will create a circular incision around your areolas as well as vertical incisions down each breast. They will then remove excess fat, reposition the areola, and reshape the breasts.

Suitable Candidates For Breast Reduction Surgery

There are lots of reasons why women seek breast reduction surgery. The majority of our patients want to reduce their breast size to alleviate pain. Large breasts can cause uncomfortable back, shoulder, and neck pain. A lot of our reduction patients report being unable to continue with their day-to-day activities as a result of the pain.

We accept patients who have a poor self-image as a result of their breasts, those who have moderate nerve pain, and people who experience painful rashes and irritation under their breasts.

Breast reduction surgery is also a suitable option for men. Some men experience growth in their breast tissue as a result of weight fluctuations or a genetic disposition. We offer gynecomastia surgery for men and women.

We do not accept patients who are very overweight. Weight fluctuations can alter the appearance of breasts and create sagging and droopiness, even after breast reduction surgery. We also reject patients who are unwilling to stop smoking. Smoking creates blood flow problems that can affect the blood supply to the nipples.

How Much Is a Breast Reduction?

Breast reduction costs vary from clinic to clinic. When it comes to life-long surgery, it is important to choose a clinic that prioritises quality. Our surgeons have a tailored approach to reduction surgery. Each reduction is considered on a case by case basis, which means that your surgery might cost slightly more or less than another patient’s surgery.

We are one of the only clinics that offer comprehensive prices. The anaesthesia, medical fee, and aftercare procedures are included in the cost of the surgery.

What to Expect From Breast Reduction Recovery?

It does not take as long to recover from breast reduction surgery as other breast augmentation procedures. Unlike implant surgery, reduction surgery does not involve the use of foreign materials. That being said, breast reduction surgery should be taken seriously.

It can take anywhere from a month to 6 weeks to recover completely. Our surgeons work on a case by case basis, which means that all of our patients will experience a different recovery period.

Here are some of the most important recovery guidelines.

  • Do not drive or wear a seatbelt until you are fully recovered
  • Avoid heavy lifting for at least 6 weeks after surgery
  • Wear a sports bra for 3 months after surgery
  • Do not touch your stitches until they dissolve
